Grimes lived within Dayton Ohio as the son of Pentecostal priest. Grimes was a 2002 graduate from Dayton Christian High School. Luke Timothy Grimes was born 21 January 1984, in Dayton Ohio U.S. Randy Grimes the Pentecostal preacher as well as Angie Barker is his father. Luke Grimes is the son of Randy Grimes who is a Pentecostal pastor and Angie Barker. There are three sisters: Racheal Abby Grimes and Seth Grimes. His family was religious and strict. He attended Dayton Christian High School. After graduating from high school in 2002, Luke was able to move to New York City to pursue his ambition of becoming an actor. He enrolled at the American Academy of Dramatic Arts where he studied acting for two years. To enhance his musical ability the musician took guitar lessons as well as singing classes.
